Sony held its traditional State of Play show, the first of the year. Players were shown Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, Death Stranding 2 and other games for PS5 and PS VR2.
Stellar Blade release date
Korean studio SHIFT UP has revealed its action game Stellar Blade (formerly Project EVE) with prominent characters. Players were presented several cut-scenes, pumping options and gameplay footage with battles. The project will be released exclusively on PS5 on April 26, 2024.
Helldivers 2 Trailer
Sony has reminded us that cooperative shooter Helldivers 2 will be released on February 8. The project will be released not only on PS5 and PC.
Sonic X Shadow Generations
The rumors of a re-release have turned out to be true. Sonic fans will get a set of legendary 2D and 3D levels, as well as a brand new campaign for the hedgehog Shadow. Sonic X Shadow Generations will be released in the fall of 2024.
Zenless Zone Zero
Another “gachi game” from the authors of Genshin Impact. Zenless Zone Zero has no release date yet.
Foamstars
A content review for the first season of Foamstars. The game will be added to the PS+ catalog immediately after its release on February 6.
Dave The Diver
Announced Godzilla’s appearance in the waters of indie hit Dave The Diver in May 2024. Also announced that the game will be released on PS4 and 5 in April.
V Rising
A survival game about building your own vampire castle, V Rising, will also be coming to PS5. The port is due out sometime in 2024.
Silent Hill: The Short Message
PS5 owners got the new Silent Hill: The Short Message for free. In the game, a girl Anita tries to find her friend and survive.
Silent Hill 2 remake
In the new trailer, the developers focused on demonstrating the combat system. So far, the Silent Hill 2 remake hasn’t even gotten a release window. More details in a separate news.
Judas
A story trailer of the shooter from Ken Levine, creator of BioShock. Judas will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. No release date yet. More details in separate news.
Metro Awakening
The insights about the new game in the Metro series have been confirmed. The next project will be for those who love VR. Vertigo Games will release Metro Awakening on PS5, PC and Quest devices. Look for more details in a separate news story.
Legendary Tales
Cooperative action-RPG in VR about dungeon exploration and destruction of skeletons, goblins and other evil things will leave early access on February 8.
Dragon’s Dogma II
Another trailer of the open world role-playing action game. Viewers were shown more battle scenes with the participation of various monsters. Dragon’s Dogma II release date is March 22, 2024.
Rise of the Ronin
The next game from Team Ninja has also received a gameplay trailer. The trailer showed the exploration of the open world and battles with different types of enemies. Rise of the Ronin is scheduled for release on March 22.
Until Dawn re-release
Remaster? Remake? No, the authors of Until Dawn decided to use the term Rebuilt. What’s behind it? We’ll find out sometime in 2024, when the project will be available for PS5 and PC.
Death Stranding 2
Perhaps the main event of the show was the demonstration of Death Stranding 2. The rumors were confirmed: the project will be released in 2025 with the subtitle On The Beach. More details in a separate news.
A new spy tittle from Kojima
At the end of the show, renowned game designer Hideo Kojima paid lip service to a project he’ll be taking on in the future specifically for Sony. More details are available here
