Portal Revolution: The prequel, prepared by moderators

Release Delay: Valve’s Check and Its Consequences

Moderators presented Portal Revolution or Portal 2 prequel from fans of the original game. The developers have prepared a lot of puzzles that will take several hours to solve. Initially, the project was scheduled to be released on January 5, but there was a slight delay due to Valve’s checking of the final build. This is a prequel mod to Portal 2, with an expected completion time of 5-7 hours. However, the release was disrupted because of Valve. Before a game can be released on Steam, it has to be tested, which usually takes 2-3 days, and developers are advised to send the build at least 2 weeks before the expected release date. The developers of Portal Revolution did just that, sending the build for review on 20 December 2023, but it was never reviewed. Before setting the release date for January, the authors of the mod contacted Steam support to clarify whether they would be able to test it during the holiday period, and received a response:

“We will have a reduced team during the holidays, so expect long review times. I’ve changed (and immediately published) the release date for you” – this gave some confidence that they would have time to check everything, but in the end, it didn’t work out.
