Quest designer of “The Witcher” and Cyberpunk 2077 will take on a new big-budget RPG

In May 2021, quest designer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz left CD Projekt RED. A few months later he joined Riot Games. Now the specialist again works in the Polish studio – he became the creative director of the young team Rebel Wolves.

Recall that in CDPR Tomaszkiewicz had a hand in all parts of “The Witcher”, as well as Cyberpunk 2077. In Rebel Wolves he will keep company with other CD Projekt RED employees, who are preparing an unannounced role-playing game. Among them is Konrad Tomaszkiewicz (Konrad Tomaszkiewicz), Mateusz’s brother.

Throughout the years that I’ve been developing games, narrative role-playing adventures have always remained a passion of mine. For me, there’s nothing better than being able to immerse myself in the atmosphere and discover hand-crafted stories and worlds. There are so many phenomenal RPGs coming out today, but I feel like there is still room for new projects in the industry and players are hungry for compelling storytelling. That’s why I’m very excited to join my longtime friends and meet new ones in my role as creative director of Rebel Wolves. We intend to release the kind of RPG that we ourselves will love.
We want to create a world that you will want to explore, and tell stories that will make you sympathize with the characters. We intend to offer a game that gives you tons of possibilities and room for experimentation. My mission at Rebel Wolves is to assist a great many talented people in creating this adventure, and I look forward to seeing what our team has been cooking up for some time now.

Tomaszkiewicz commented on the news as follows:

There are very few official details about the debut creation of Rebel Wolves. We are waiting for a dark RPG on Unreal Engine 5. The game will visit computers and current consoles.

As for unofficial information, the project, apparently, is called DAWNWALKER: Origins. In the center of the plot will be vampires. On the scale of the game is comparable to the addon “Blood and Wine” for “The Witcher 3”. The project team in 2023 had about 100 people.
