Cyberpunk 2077 sequel may feature multiplayer, and AI will be involved in the game’s development

CD Projekt executives Adam Badowski and Michal Nowakowski talked to Reuters and revealed a few details about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. The details are not too much, but it became known that the developers are once again planning to add multiplayer to the game:

According to Badowski, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel codenamed Orion is under development. CD Projekt expects to have about 80 people working on the project by the end of the year. Nowakowski added that the company is considering including multiplayer elements, but would not discuss details.

Studio executives also added that they plan to utilize AI in development:

Nowakowski added that CD Projekt has formed a team to explore the use of artificial intelligence. “We believe that AI is something that can help improve certain processes in game production, but not replace humans,” he said.

The brief interview ended with assurances that the studio has learned from Cyberpunk 2077 release and in the future they will “manage to avoid such problems”. I’d like to believe it, but it’s hard to believe – especially against the background of the next stories about the game years before the full-fledged announcement and even more so before the release.
