This port will be the most expensive one yet for Insomniac Games.

A huge number of internal documents of Insomniac Games studio have leaked into the network. In particular, it became known plans to release games on “X-Men”, and in gameplay videos Marvel’s Wolverine showed the basic mechanics.

Among other things, the likely release window for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC became known. If nothing changes, the superhero action game will be released on PCs in fiscal year 2025, that is, between April 2024 and March 2025.

According to documents from the leak, Sony has allocated $4.6 million dollars to develop the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is twice as much as the remaster of the original game. This will be Insomniac Games’ most expensive port yet.

It can be assumed that computer players are waiting for the full edition of Spider-Man 2, which will include all the released additions. It has already been confirmed that Spider-Man 2 will get an update with “New Game+” in early 2024, and the developers are planning 4 add-ons in total and all of them will be free.

However, that’s not all the mention of PC versions of Insomniac Games’ games. According to the documents, development on the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 will begin in fiscal year 2026, while the Wolverine game will begin in 2027 with an initial release on PS5 in the fall of 2026.

Sony has started releasing its certain projects on PC every year to increase revenue. The latest releases were Returnal and The Last of Us Part I. And the latter appeared on PC six months after the release on PlayStation. Although in general it is a remake, not a full-fledged novelty.

It is also officially confirmed that Horizon Forbidden West will be released on PC in early 2024. As in the case with other exclusives, the action will get a PC edition in Complete Edition format, that is, it will include not only the main game, but also additional content.
