CD Projekt RED has started working on Cyberpunk 2077 sequel

Cyberpunk 2077 quest director Pavel Sasko posted on his social media that his team from CD Projekt RED’s Boston office is back to work and is already “discussing” the sequel with gusto:

It’s so good to be back in the office – in snowy Boston! Our core team has been enthusiastically discussing the next installment of Cyberpunk 2077. I love this team and our dystopian IP! In the photo: me and Sarah Grummer, the expert quest designer who brought you the Judy storyline.

In the comments, Paul was asked if the sequel would be set in 2077, but he avoided answering. Instead, he explained that he would not be working on any sequels to The Witcher. Well, almost:

Cyberpunk is my main IP, but I’ll be helping out with the new The Witcher, depending on the needs. We have a very experienced team that is doing their best to bring you an amazing game in the Witcher universe, and I have full confidence in them!

The sequel is being developed at CD Projekt studios in Vancouver and Boston, and by the end of 2024, half of the team is expected to work from the US and half from Poland. The release date has not yet been announced, not even approximately.
